Summer has arrived here in the mountains of northern New Mexico after a long, cool and rainy spring for us - very different than our usual windy and dry weather! Celebrating the warmer months, I’ve released a new lace shawl pattern, Spindle.
Named not for the wool-spinning tool, but rather for a thorny bush with pink and orange berries that burst open in the summertime, this 2-color shawl is knit using Nimue Sock. The sample is shown here in Rosa Rugosa (the pink) and Georgia Peach (the orange).
The shawl features two lace motifs and an easy slip-stitch pattern. It requires one skein of each of the colors. While I chose summery colors for the sample, but I think this design would look equally pretty in a pair of light and dark greens or blues.
Also of note, I’ll be vending and teaching again at Stitches Midwest the first weekend in August (August 1-4, 2019). If you are in the Chicago area, I hope you’ll come join us for another fun event. You can find the entire vendor list (I will be in The Yarn Guys’ booths again), as well as class and event schedules at the Stitches website here.
